The Shihadeh family has been in the hospitality business in the Bay Area for over 50 years, spanning three generations. With a flagship restaurant, a quick-service outlet at SFO, a neighborhood deli and a successful catering business, Amoura has earned an esteemed reputation for serving high quality Eastern Mediterranean cuisine, rooted in the family’s Palestinian heritage. Known for going above and beyond to provide both restaurant guests and corporate partners with their ideal experience, the team’s warm and inviting spirit is at the core of their continued success.

AMOURA RESTAURANT

Growing up in Palestine, our family lived off of the natural bounty of the land—pressing olives into oil, preparing salads from what was growing in the garden, and baking fresh bread from local grains. Amoura is inspired by this tradition of creating sumptuous food using the simple, high quality ingredients around you, and preparing them from scratch each day. 

Our menu features dishes from across the Eastern Mediterranean, including recipes from our family table, as well as dishes incorporating the many complementary flavors, ingredients, and cooking techniques used throughout this vibrant culinary region. Located in the heart of South San Francisco, we utilize the bounty of seasonal produce and organic ingredients available in Northern California in the spirit of eating the best of what’s available locally. 

Amoura is a word for love in many languages, and proprietor Sam Shihadeh chose the restaurant’s name as a tribute to his daughter Serena, whom he nicknamed “Amoura” or “my love.”
